Honda’s new model named Green SUV of the Year

It’s great to be green, particularly in case you’re a SUV.

That is the reason it was a pleasant quill in the top of Honda to win the Green SUV of the Year honor for its new HR-V little hybrid this week at the Washington Auto Show.

The grant was the most recent from the Green Car Journal, which draws a ton of consideration consistently for its Green Car of the Year grant. That is “green” as in environmental.

The Volvo XC90 hybrid was named as the greenest extravagance auto and Chevrolet Malibu is the green associated auto.


“These are emerge vehicles in an inexorably advanced and engaging field of “green” autos,” said Ron Cogan, proofreader and distributer of Green Car Journal and CarsOfChange.com. “To make the cut as a finalist is a genuine accomplishment in itself considering the impressive rivalry in the business sector today.

Honda’s HR-V is one of a radical new class of vehicle that has appeared in the previous couple of years, the subcompact SUV. As a class, they are large yet fuel effective. Honda emerged for planning a vehicle with the common sense of a SUV with the styling of a roadster. From a proficiency point of view, the HR-V gets 35 miles a gallon on the interstate from its 141-pull motor.

It beat out opponents such as BMW X1 xDrive 28i, Hyundai Tucson, Mazda CX-3, and Toyota RAV4 Hybrid for the honor.
